Gary Smith III Has not played in a game since the 2023 season. That will change when he takes on the field for UCLA this fall. Injuries have been an unfortunate part of Smith’s College Journey. However, he was one of the players who spoke the most before the Bruins this summer.
“I missed here to be with the boys,” he said on Wednesday. “I’m healthy again. So I’m just excited to be here and roll around and have fun. Fall Camp is always fun.”
An injury for the season forced Smith to miss all year round. Injuries also influenced his 2023 campaign. However, he was still able to play in 10 games and pick up 21 tackles.
Smith has reformed his body out of season this season, and he thinks he is a cornerstone of the front.
“This entire outdoor season, make sure I took care of my body,” he said. “Regarding rehabilitation, staying consistent. Consistent is the most important thing. I also changed my diet. And it worked for me.
“Just excited to be back here.”
Clean food has led to a drop of about 20 pounds for Smith. He said that cutting fast food and cheat meals was the key to change his body. It has led to various important differences on the field.
“I feel lighter on my feet,” he said. “Feel explosive. I feel twitchy again. And I just feel good. I am excited.”
Smith and Keanu Williams They are expected to form an important duo along the line of defense for the Bruins. Now both are healthy and they must be an important part for the UCLA defense.
“We’re all going to pitch,” said Smith. “And we’ll certainly get the job done.”
