Move over, Dubai Chocolate-We taste the new chocolate bar with angel hair. Is it worth the price tag of $ 16?

Firstly, the Dubai chocolate bar gourmets sent in a spiral with its crispy kataifi and pistachio crème filling, everything inspiring, from Shake Shack’s Dubai Chocolate Shake to the latest pancake pile from IHOP. But now a new bar here is to shake up the confectionery: it is called the Angel Hair Chocolate Bar, and she is actually the sweeter, girl from the Dubai Chocolate Bar. When I saw this bar trending on Tiktok, I knew that I had to see if it met the hype.

So what is the angel hair chocolate bar? While many different brands make a version of the treat, Chowhound has credited the Belgian chocolatier Tucho with the invention of angel hair chocolate. The version is filled with Pişmaniye, a cotton instrument in Turkish style, as well as pistachio cream, vanilla, pomegranate and raspberry aroma. Other versions of the bar, such as a popular from Beemax, are made with similar ingredients.

Just like the Dubai chocolate bar, the Engelenhaar Chocolate bar makes the rounds on social media, with many influencers who open to reveal his cotton candy in it. Many of the bars online have bright colors and tie-rejected patterns on the outer chocolate shell, while others keep it simple with only milk or dark chocolate. And just like the Dubai Chocolate Bar, the Angel Hair Bar is supplied with a good price tag ranging from around $ 13 to $ 24, depending on the brand.

As far as myself is concerned, I wanted to try this chocolate bar as quickly as possible. Instead of looking for shops for the bar, I looked at Doordash and found a version available locally. Within an hour my own angel hair chocolate bar, from the EMA Chocolate brand, was at my door.

The version of EMA Chocolate is coated in white chocolate. It is also painted pink and green, which is super aesthetic. However, when I opened the bar, I was slightly less than excited by the appearance. The Candy Floss looked like, well, her. As a colleague put it, it seemed that I ate ‘a troll pop’, while another said it was an ‘easy-bake oven creation’. A third only had two words: “I’m upset.”

But performances can cheat. When I bit the chocolate bar, I was greeted with an immediate sugar trush – together with the unfortunate sensation that I was biting her in a piece of hair. Fortunately, the cotton candy sweets quickly melted in my mouth, so I remained sweetness and not very much different. When I gave a piece to my husband – who was initially quite panicked by the whole her thing – he said it was “good”, but that he absolutely did not want a second piece.

So, will the angel hair chocolate bar become a regular treat in my pantry? Probably not. The price aside (this bar cost $ 16, excluding delivery costs, but I have seen that versions in the Tiktok store for more than $ 24 sell), even I, a self-proclaimed dessert man, cannot handle that much sugar in one go. Moreover, the whole ‘hair’ ding makes me more crazy than I want to admit – even if that melts her in sugar -containing goodness the moment it touches your tongue.
